Assistant Accountant

Apply Job no: N9ADJ Category: Finance ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a motivated and detailoriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will provide accurate and timely transactional accounting support, contributing to key processes that underpin business performance across Ampcontrol. You will support core accounting activities including reconciliations, journal processing, and monthend reporting, while working closely with the wider Finance team to maintain data integrity, deliver quality financial information, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support monthend and yearend close processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks. Prepare and process journals and contribute to maintaining general ledger accuracy. Complete balance sheet and payroll reconciliations and investigate variances. Assist with financial reporting, ad hoc analysis, and preparation of business reports. Support inventory and workinprogress analysis, including participation in stocktakes. Assist with statutory, audit, and compliance requirements as required. Collaborate with Finance team members to deliver highquality, accurate financial data. Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives. ABOUT YOU Education & Qualifications Degree in Accounting or nearing completion of a degree in Accounting Technical Skills Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency Experience using ERP systems (e.g. MS Dynamics, SAP or similar) and financial systems Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience Previous experience in accounting or similar finance roles Experience working within engineering, manufacturing or heavy industry environments (preferred) Knowledge of financial management practices and reporting processes Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools (desirable) Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate results on time EMPLOYEE BENEFITS At Ampcontrol, we believe great work deserves great rewards.
