Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical):
Desired: A Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred to support technical understanding of products and applications.

Bachelor of Business (or similar):
Desired: A business-related qualification is advantageous to support commercial and strategic capabilities.

Unencumbered Full Victorian Driver's Licence:
Mandatory: A valid, unrestricted driver's licence is required to support travel within the role.

Key Position Responsibilities

Business Development:
Identification of business development opportunities, with opportunities developed and progressed until the point of becoming a commercial reality.
Outcome: Strategic analysis and development of various markets, including but not limited to mining, rail, oil and gas.

Travel Requirements:
Travel within allocated state(s) as well as interstate to ensure commercial opportunities are appropriately explored and serviced.
Outcome: Effective exploration and servicing of commercial opportunities across regions.

Customer Engagement:
Plan and undertake regular call patterns to existing customers to promote Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS).
Outcome: Develop and maintain customer relationships that promote both regular and ad-hoc sales.

Account Management:
Service and develop accounts according to sales targets through effective sales presentations, training, joint calls, and utilisation of support services including Account Managers, Business Development Managers, Engineers and Service Personnel where appropriate.
Outcome: Develop and maintain customer relationships that result in commercial outcomes.

Product Implementation:
Implement new and innovative HFS products through detailed project management and marketing programs.
Outcome: Proactive, planned and detailed sales and marketing plans implemented for specified and generic markets and customers.

Strategic Contribution:
Provide recommendations and identify opportunities to the Sales & Marketing Manager for incorporation into the organisation's sales and marketing strategy.
Outcome: Translate field and customer-facing knowledge into tangible input for the organisation's sales and marketing strategy.

Technical Support:
Provide application and product knowledge to Customer Service and other relevant HFS staff.
Outcome: Provide timely advisory support to HFS staff.

Trade Show Participation:
Adopt a role in the development and implementation of HFS displays at trade show events.
Outcome: Ensure a positive image of HFS is portrayed, with an appropriate range of products clearly displayed and communicated to customers.

Database Management:
Utilising available resources, maintain a database capturing potential contacts and opportunities for HFS.
Outcome: Identify, record and maintain opportunities, and report on any barriers preventing conversion into commercial outcomes.

Project Work:
Undertake projects that have the capacity to translate into commercial and business development opportunities.
Outcome: Deliver projects that provide an appropriate return on capital.

Internal Support:
Provide guidance and advice to Customer Service Representatives.
Outcome: Provide knowledge and business acumen to Howmet staff to maximise effectiveness.

General Duties:
Undertake other duties as directed by the Sales & Marketing Manager.
Outcome: Contribute to the overall ability of HFS to satisfy customer and internal requirements.
