About the role


Reporting to the Head of Application Delivery and Architecture, the Senior IT Project Manager drives the delivery of complex, high-impact projects and programs across the organisation. Operating with autonomy, this role oversees multiple streams, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy, technology roadmaps, and compliance requirements.

The position provides strategic leadership in project delivery, guiding teams and partners to achieve outcomes that support Red Cross’ humanitarian mission. Accountable for delivering projects on time, within scope and budget, the role works closely with senior stakeholders—including the CIO, business leaders, vendors, and the EPMO—to influence priorities, manage interdependencies, and ensure successful execution of enterprise-wide initiatives.

About you

  • Demonstrated ability to manage both technical and business stakeholders and resources
  • Substantial experience (Ideally 5+ years) in leading complex, high-value IT projects and programs, including end-to-end planning, development, and execution across multiple streams
  • Demonstrated skills in developing and maintaining enterprise-level project management artefacts, including integrated schedules, governance plans, budgets, and executive reporting
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, customers and other service departments
  • Extensive experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies, including Scrum practices such as backlog management, user story development, estimation, and prioritisation
  • Proven proficiency in Jira/Confluence, MS Project and MS Office, including MS Visio
  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal IT teams, overseas consultants, external vendors, and solution partners.

Qualifications/Licenses

Required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications specifically a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline is essential along with relevant substantial experience.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Project Management, Business Administration, or Technology Management
  • Project Management certifications (PMBOK, PRINCE2 or similar standards)
  • Agile Product Owner certification (PSPO1, etc.) and Agile Scrum Master certification (PSM1, CSM, etc.)
