Lead, assess and deliver expert occupational therapy services for complex mental health consumers, driving recovery-focused outcomes in a collaborative hospital setting.

What you'll be doing
In this senior clinical role, you will provide expert occupational therapy services to consumers within the B22 unit, contributing to a holistic and recovery-oriented model of care while guiding junior clinicians and shaping service delivery.

  • Deliver comprehensive assessments and advanced OT interventions for complex mental health presentations

  • Lead discipline-specific practice and supervise Level 1/2 Occupational Therapists

  • Design, implement and evaluate individual and group therapy programs

  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to support recovery-focused care planning

  • Contribute to service improvement, staff education and professional leadership across the team

Essential Requirements:

  • License: NSW Drivers License

  • Qualifications: Appropriate professional qualification in Occupational Therapy with current full registration under APHRA as a practising Occupational Therapy within NSW

  • Registration: AHPRA Occupational Therapist

Selection Criteria:

  1. Substantial experience working in mental health preferably in an acute setting

  2. Experience in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating therapeutic groups

  3. Ability to be self-motivated, operate autonomously and co-operatively within the team.

  4. Experience in providing a range of Occupational therapy-based assessments and documenting these in clear professional and practical reports

  5. Experience in working within a multidisciplinary team cooperatively to establish clear care plans with complementarily goals in a recovery-oriented model.

  6. Good oral and written communication skills for clinical documentation and advocacy as an Occupational Therapist

  7. Utilisation of a person-centred approach in working with consumers and carers to maximise holistic and recovery-oriented outcomes

  8. Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), including its principles, eligibility criteria, and planning models to support safe and coordinated hospital discharge planning
