Join the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit at Westmead, a specialist inpatient service dedicated to supporting adults with moderate to extremely severe traumatic brain injuries. Working alongside a highly experienced interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in helping patients and families navigate recovery, adjustment and rehabilitation while contributing to innovative, evidence-based care.

What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Psychologist, you will provide specialised psychological assessment and intervention to adults with traumatic brain injuries and their families throughout the rehabilitation journey. You will deliver evidence-based care, support behaviour management and contribute to achieving optimal rehabilitation outcomes within a collaborative team environment.
In this role you will be required to:
Deliver psychological assessment, psychoeducation, counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy and behaviour management interventions.
Develop, implement and evaluate individualised rehabilitation and behaviour support programs.
Support patients, families and carers to understand and adjust to the psychological and behavioural impacts of brain injury.
Provide expert consultation and recommendations to the interdisciplinary team to maximise patient participation and recovery.
Participate in clinical reviews, family meetings, service development activities and quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Criteria
Qualification: Masters degree or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from an APAC accredited course.
Registration: Current Registration with Psychology Board of Australia.
Selection Criteria
Endorsement to practise in the area of Clinical Psychology, or currently undertaking a Psychology Registrar program of board-approved supervised practice for the purpose of gaining such endorsement.
Evidence of post-graduate Clinical Psychology experience in the treatment of adults with traumatic brain injuries, or patients with other diagnoses and challenging behaviours.
Evidence of ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated use of the principles of evidence-based practice.
Evidence of a commitment to continuing professional education and quality management.
