Support the democratic process by playing a key role in delivering the 2027 New South Wales State election

About the Role

The Manager, Site Operations is responsible for supporting the Director, Site Operations to establish site services for a new Centralised Count Centre to be used for the upcoming State General Election in March 2027.

The Manager, Site Operations is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Centralised Count Centre (CCC) including coordinating contractors, teams and service providers, monitoring progress and quality, compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements and enforcing health and safety standards.

The role is responsible for ensuring the venue is maintained to the highest standards, operational requirements are met, and events are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all relevant regulations.

The role is temporary full-time until 30 June 2027 and will be based in our Sydney CBD offices and our dedicated count centre in western Sydney.

Key knowledge, experience and essential requirements

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry experience.

  • Proven track record of managing sites in complex environments.

  • Current WHS certification and First Aid qualifications (or willingness to obtain).

  • Solid understanding of WHS legislation, site safety best practices, and emergency response procedures.

  • Excellent influencing, negotiation and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability in managing priorities within tight deadlines and budget constraints.

  • Satisfactory Criminal Record check result.

  • No affiliations with political parties, candidates, elected members, third-party campaigners, donors or registered lobbyists that could undermine the political impartiality of the Commission or that are otherwise inconsistent with its Political Neutrality Policy.

This role is based mainly in our Elizabeth Street, Sydney office or our dedicated count centre in western Sydney. Flexible arrangements may also be agreed with the Site Director or the Assistant Commissioner, Electoral Operations Group.
