We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Management Accountant to join our Life & Health Subsidiary in Sydney.

About the role:

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this permanent role is part of our Finance team. As a Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering highquality internal financial information and to local management and head office, partnering with the business by providing insights and supporting effective decisionmaking. The position also proactively supports local and global strategic initiatives, both within and outside of Finance, and drives Finance change.

As a Senior Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial insight and ensuring robust financial governance across the business. This role offers the opportunity to operate at both a strategic and operational level, partnering closely with stakeholders locally and across the Group.

In this position, you will:
Lead external and group reporting, ensuring all deliverables align with IFRS, Solvency II (SII) requirements and established group accounting policies, maintaining accuracy and consistency across submissions.
Drive expense management and performance insights, taking ownership of planning and forecasting processes, partnering with cost centre managers, and delivering clear, actionable reporting to support both local leadership and group cost controlling teams.
Oversee accounting processes and controls for expenses, providing operational leadership, strengthening governance, and supporting team members with guidance to ensure processes are executed effectively and in line with policy.
Manage complex and bespoke client arrangements, taking responsibility for accounting and operational oversight outside standard IFRS 17 frameworks, including governance, process implementation, and technical accounting advice.
Lead local delivery of group-led initiatives, acting as the key point of contact for projects and system changes, ensuring local requirements are represented and new processes are embedded successfully into the business.
Partner with the business as a trusted finance advisor, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders on strategic initiatives and providing informed accounting, finance, and tax guidance to support sound decision-making.

We are seeking a technically strong and forward-thinking finance professional who brings both capability and curiosity to the role. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys improving how things are done, embraces technology, and collaborates effectively across the business.

To be successful, you will bring:
A recognised professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent), supported by a solid foundation in financial and management accounting.
Advanced Excel capabilities, with the ability to analyse data efficiently and produce meaningful outputs.
Hands-on experience with data and reporting tools, including building reports and queries using Power Query, Power BI, or similar platforms beyond standard report execution.
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, enabling you to build trust and work effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
Strategic thinking ability, with the capacity to contribute to broader business initiatives and support informed decision-making.
Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders, including the ability to liaise at Board and executive level with clarity and professionalism.
Highly developed organisational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing demands effectively.
Clear and impactful communication skills, both written and verbal, tailored to a range of audiences.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capability, with a focus on delivering practical and insightful outcomes.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, balancing autonomy with strong teamwork.
