About The Role
The Ventilation Officer will support our Narrabri Coal Mining Operations by overseeing ventilation, gas management and gas monitoring arrangements in line with the CMH&S Act and Regulations. You’ll have an active part in the mine production requirements of the mine and opportunities to attend OEM discussions, technical seminars and visit other mine sites to further develop your knowledge.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain compliance with legislation and Mine Safety Management System.
- Provide technical support in ventilation and gas management to management, superintendents, supervisors and the workforce.
- Seek opportunities for improvements of the Mine Safety Management Systems, by monitoring industry-wide trends in Australia and overseas.
- Develop and conduct audits to monitor compliance with non-conformances reported and rectified.
What You’ll Bring
- Degree or Associate Diploma in Mining Engineering
- Graduate Diploma in Mine Ventilation (or similar)
- Third Class Certificate of Competency
- Previous experience working in underground coal mining
