About The Opportunity
Programmed's Facility Management division is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our growing team specialising in generator maintenance, servicing, and repairs across critical infrastructure, commercial, and industrial sites for our Western Region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Electrical Technician with experience in generator systems, standby power, industrial electrical equipment, or critical power infrastructure. You will play a key role in maintaining and supporting essential backup power systems that keep our clients operating safely and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct electrical testing, fault finding, and repairs on generator systems and associated equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot generator control systems and control panels
- Maintain and service ATS (Automatic Transfer Switches) and switchboards
- Test battery systems, chargers, and associated electrical infrastructure
- Perform generator commissioning, operational testing, and performance verification
- Complete compliance inspections and ensure all work is completed to regulatory requirements
- Prepare detailed service reports and maintenance documentation
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including completion of TRAs, SWMS, and LOTO requirements
- Participate in on-call and emergency response activities as required
About You
To join our team, you will be a qualified Electrical Technician with a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer service. Additionally, you will have:
- Current A-Grade Electrical License
- Experience with generators, standby power systems, industrial electrical equipment, or similar environments
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Current driver's license
- Experience completing detailed service reports and maintenance records
- Experience completing TRAs, LOTO procedures, and SWMS documentation
Highly Regarded
Experience with CAT, Cummins, Deutz, Kohler, FG Wilson, MWM, or similar generator systems
Industrial maintenance or field service experience
Additional licenses or tickets including HR License, Forklift License, or EWP Ticket
Experience with generator commissioning and critical power infrastructure
