RPS, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking an experienced Bid and Pursuit Manager to support our Oceans & Environment team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced bid professional who can manage the full bid lifecycle while also contributing to pursuit planning, opportunity management and strategic business development activities across Australia's growing onshore and offshore energy, environmental and marine sectors.
Working within our National Pursuits team, you will partner closely with technical leaders to identify opportunities, develop winning strategies and deliver high-quality submissions that support business growth.
The Opportunity
As Bid and Pursuit Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end bid process while supporting strategic pursuits and opportunity management activities across Australia.
This is a hands-on role that requires a strong understanding of bid management, tender preparation and submission processes. You will work closely with technical experts and business leaders to coordinate opportunities from early positioning through to final submission and client engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the full bid lifecycle from opportunity identification and qualification through to submission and post-submission reviews
- Leading strategic pursuits and supporting opportunity management activities to improve win outcomes
- Coordinating planning and positioning activities for priority opportunities
- Developing bid plans, schedules and submission strategies
- Writing and editing high-quality non-technical content including executive summaries, capability statements, company information and personnel biographies
- Coordinating technical contributions from subject matter experts and ensuring content is compliant and compelling
- Formatting and producing professional submission documents in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, including CVs, project sheets and presentation materials
- Managing tender responses through client procurement systems and online tender portals
- Maintaining capability statements, project experience records and bid library content
- Supporting client engagement strategies and relationship development activities
- Facilitating lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identifying and coordinating industry award submissions
- Leveraging AI tools and technology to improve bid quality, efficiency and consistency
About You
You are a highly organised and commercially minded pursuits, bids, marketing or business development professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
You will bring:
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in bid management, pursuits, business development, communications or marketing within a professional services environment
- Demonstrated experience managing complex bids and tenders from initiation through to final submission
- Proven experience preparing tender documentation, populating response schedules and coordinating multi-disciplinary contributions
- Strong writing capability, including development of executive summaries, biographies, capability statements and other non-technical bid content
- Experience formatting and producing high-quality submission documents using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Strong understanding of client procurement processes and online tender portals
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously
- Advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite will be highly regarded
This role can be based in Perth or Melbourne.
Candidates based in Melbourne will be required to work predominantly to Perth business hours to support the operational needs of the team.
