About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist to join our Wagga Wagga Base Hospital Pharmacy Team. You will assist in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service and information, advice and emergency supplies to other hospitals and health care facilities as required.

As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for:

  • Prepare and supply all medications for use in HITH (Hospital in the Home) including extemporaneous an aseptically prepared medications

  • Providing information pertaining to patients and other members of the healthcare team as required.

  • Distribute medication to patients

  • Be involved in departmental audits and KPI data collections as requested

  • Record clinical intervention incidents in IIMS and the pharmacy intervention databases as appropriate

  • Commit to development, participating in Pharmacy Department education and training activities

  • Work according to the departmental safe work methods and guidelines

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A tertiary qualification in Pharmacy with full AHPRA registration

  • A minimum of 3 years Hospital Pharmacy experience post registration

  • Experience and skills in sterile manufacture, stability of antibiotics and other extemporaneously prepared products

  • Experience and skills in clinical pharmacy with the ability to apply this knowledge to practical situations

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
