About Australian Red Cross

Australian Red Cross is part of the world’s largest humanitarian movement. We support and empower people and communities in times of vulnerability. We act for humanity.

How this role supports our work

Bequests are a vital and growing source of untied income for Australian Red Cross, supporting our long-term humanitarian mission. The Specialist supports the development and delivery of fundraising strategies and partnerships to build a sustainable portfolio of intenders, considerers, and confirmed bequestors. This role contributes to the implementation of cultivation activities designed to deepen engagement with these supporters and grow long-term revenue to Australian Red Cross.

What you will do day to day

  • Assist with the development and coordination of a multi-faceted, end-to-end direct marketing bequest program (including digital, direct mail, telemarketing, email, social media, and other relevant channels) to help identify, acquire, and convert leads into the Living Bequest Pipeline from both known Red Cross supporters and cold prospecting activities.
  • Support the management of relationships with key third-party suppliers, including telemarketing agencies, mail houses, and freelance copywriters and designers, to ensure the effective and timely delivery of campaign components.
  • Assist in engaging internal stakeholders to help maximise lead generation activities and conversion strategies across Fundraising, Partnerships, Members, Volunteers, and other relevant teams.
  • Support the promotion of the Australian Red Cross bequest program to the public by helping cultivate leads and awareness through advertising and promotional activities across print and digital channels aimed at cold audience acquisition.
  • Work in partnership with the Data & Insights team and key stakeholders to support the development and use of propensity models and reporting tools to evaluate direct marketing performance.

What you will bring

  • Demonstrated ability supporting programs to acquire customers/donors and helping grow support into flourishing relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail and the ability to adapt messaging to suit different audiences.
  • Professional and approachable, with the maturity and diplomacy to engage respectfully with bequest supporters, potential supporters, and donors.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to successfully support and maintain collaborative partnerships.
  • Proficient in Jira, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other relevant software tools. Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience highly regarded.
