Technology Manager - Stirred Mills and HPGR

Metso is seeking a commercially minded and technically strong Technology Manager to lead growth across Stirred Mills and dry grinding technologies in the Asia Pacific market. This strategic front-end sales role focuses on expanding market presence, influencing customer technology choices, and converting major capital opportunities into profitable business.

Based in Perth or Brisbane, this role sits within the APA Minerals Front End Sales team and works across the market area and broader Metso organisation to shape strategy, support customers and win in a competitive market.

About the Technology Portfolio

Metso offers one of the industry's broadest grinding portfolios. For fine grinding and regrind duties, Metso's stirred milling range includes Vertimill, HIGmill and Stirred Media Detritor (SMD), known for energy efficiency, compact footprint and low operating cost. Metso's latest dry grinding technology, the Metso Loesche VRM, represents a major step forward in sustainable comminution, delivering up to 40% energy savings, reduced water demand, no grinding media requirement, and improved mineral liberation for downstream recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Drive profitable growth across Stirred Mills and dry grinding technologies while maximising market share in APA
• Build strong customer relationships across Asia Pacific, engaging senior stakeholders on capital projects and technology selection
• Lead opportunity generation, manage the sales funnel, and prioritise strategic sales cases through Salesforce
• Develop winning strategies, assemble bid teams, and maintain sales plans for major pursuits across the portfolio
• Maintain a strong market presence through customer engagement, technical presentations, conferences and thought leadership
• Track competitors, emerging technologies and industry trends, including the shift toward energy-efficient dry grinding flowsheets
• Shape the strategic direction for Stirred Mills and dry grinding in APA through business planning, product positioning and differentiated customer value

What You'll Bring

• 10+ years' experience in mining, minerals processing or related heavy industry
• Strong commercial acumen and a solid understanding of capital equipment markets, customer drivers and project development pathways
• Strong technical understanding of comminution technologies, with the ability to position stirred milling and dry grinding solutions against customer requirements
• Demonstrated success in developing opportunities, influencing stakeholders and closing complex sales campaigns
• A customer-first mindset and the ability to translate technical capability into clear commercial value
• Strategic thinking and the ability to develop winning approaches in a competitive and evolving market
• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, metallurgy, mineral processing or a related technical discipline
• Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation across cultures and functions in a dynamic business environment
