The Opportunity
This is a newly created role within our Asset Allocation team, sitting centrally in the Investments group. The role is accountable for the delivery of macro and asset allocation research, trade ideas and recommendations.
Above all, the successful candidate will be passionate about investing, and an avid follower of markets & macro. While there are routine tasks, you will be given time to read and think. For this role, UniSuper offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne are available.
You will:
- Report on significant global economic data;
- Translate macro insights into alpha-generating positions for the Fund;
- Research investment ideas and opportunities across all asset classes;
- Collaborate with the Asset Allocation Team, asset class teams and the Asset Allocation Committee;
- Contribute to research, alpha generation, and continuous improvement.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree in a relevant field (Commerce, Economics, or similar)
- Experience using AI tools, Macrobond, Bloomberg and Factset
- Experience in at least one asset class.
- Strong communication & presentation skills with an ability to succinctly distil insights
- The ability to take the initiative and work without close supervision.
You will be comfortable working in a small, hands-on team and building new processes . Experience in superannuation, funds management or investment banking is highly regarded.
