YOUR ROLE:
The Director leads a high-performing, dynamic and adaptive team, with an appetite for driving results for our clients. The Director ensures the quality of the planning and investment team's output.
The Director drives strategic and innovative media solutions for clients, identifying the optimal media channel mix to maximize business outcomes for our clients. The Director leads the growth and profitability of the team while also generating cross-functional business growth for complementary services such as Content, Data & Analytics, Programmatic, SEO etc.
Key Responsibilities
Planning, Trading & Delivery
- Lead the implementation of media strategies across all channels
- Oversee planning, buying and campaign execution to ensure quality and accuracy
- Manage team workflow, resourcing and day-to-day delivery
- Monitor performance, reporting and campaign delivery against goals
- Negotiate media rates and ensure strong value for clients
- Identify new media opportunities and contribute to trading initiatives
- Work closely with specialist teams to deliver integrated campaigns
Client & Campaign Management
- Own media plans end-to-end, from strategy through to execution
- Ensure campaigns meet client objectives, budgets and timelines
- Deliver clear reporting, insights and recommendations
- Monitor market trends and share relevant updates with clients
- Support Client Leads in building strong, effective client relationships
Financial Management
- Manage budgets, forecasts and billing accuracy across accounts
- Ensure invoicing and financial reporting is delivered on time
- Maintain accurate tracking of spend, commitments and performance
Relationships
- Build strong partnerships with media owners and suppliers
- Collaborate effectively across internal teams
- Develop trusted relationships with clients
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop junior team members
- Support training, development and performance reviews
- Foster a positive, high-performing and collaborative team culture
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years' experience in media planning and trading (agency environment)
- Strong client and media partner relationship skills
- Able to turn channel strategy into clear, effective media plans
- Solid understanding of all media channels and how they deliver against objectives
- Advanced knowledge of planning tools and media systems
- Strong negotiation and trading capability
- Confident using market tools (e.g. SMI, Nielsen)
- Highly analytical, with the ability to turn data into insights and opportunities
- Comfortable spotting trends to inform strategy and negotiations
- Clear and confident communicator (written and verbal)
- Strong presentation skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience mentoring and developing junior team members
- Strong delegation skills to maximise team output
- Collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused mindset
- Strong numerical and financial acumen
- Advanced skills in Excel, Keynote and G Suite
