Clinical Governance Business Partner

This role sits at the heart of clinical safety and quality across virtual and aged care services within a large, multidisciplinary health environment. You will play a key part in strengthening clinical governance frameworks, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring compliance with national standards. Working closely with clinical and operational stakeholders, you will help manage risk, drive continuous improvement, and embed best-practice care delivery. The position combines hands-on governance work with strategic influence across quality, safety, and performance. Accountabilities
In this role, you will support and strengthen clinical governance systems to ensure safe, high-quality care delivery across services. You will manage key risk and quality processes while partnering with clinical teams to embed improvement initiatives.
- Manage clinical incidents, complaints, and adverse events end-to-end, ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution
- Support investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement actions across clinical services
- Contribute to clinical audits, accreditation requirements, and credentialing processes
- Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of clinical policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
- Analyse clinical data and prepare clear, actionable reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor clinical KPIs and ensure alignment with regulatory and organisational standards
- Partner with multidisciplinary stakeholders to implement quality, safety, and risk mitigation initiatives
- Support delivery of education and awareness activities related to clinical governance
Requirements
You are a healthcare professional with solid experience in clinical governance, quality, or risk management within complex healthcare settings. You combine clinical understanding with strong analytical and communication skills, and you are confident working with diverse stakeholders.
- Background as a nurse or health professional, ideally with hospital or GP experience
- Experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, incident management, audits, or accreditation
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret clinical data and produce meaningful reports
- Knowledge of healthcare standards, compliance frameworks, and risk management principles
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across clinical and non-clinical teams
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a collaborative environment
- Strong organisation skills with a proactive and improvement-focused mindset
