Australia or New Zealand: Temple Operations Specialist
The temple operations specialist supports area managers as a subject matter expert in temple operational areas, such as the office, laundry, and housing. This involves advising on decisions regarding policies and procedures with multiple stakeholders, delivering standard training curriculums and participating in the global temple operations support council. Due to varying customs and legal requirements, the specialist must frequently exercise independent judgment, creativity, and critical decision-making. This role requires unsupervised travel to a significant number of new and operating temples within a large geographical area.
This position typically reports to the Manager, Temple Operations Support.
This role will be primarily responsible for supporting temple offices and housing facilities in the Asia/Pacific region and other areas according to operational need and team workload balance.
Required
- Fluency in English
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent education and experience
- Five (5) years of related experience
- An appropriate temple demeanour
- Ability to build unity with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to balance competing interests, demands, and needs
- Ability to organize work into clear processes and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capacity to successfully work in a global environment
- Ability to work well with executive-level and priesthood leaders
- Use of Microsoft Suite (Teams, Outlook, Forms, Bookings, etc.)
- An attitude and determination for continuous improvement and operational simplification, in both self and in supporting temple operations
Preferred
- Experience working in a temple operation is strongly preferred
- Experience using Temple Information System (TIS)
- Experience with, and understanding of, project management
- Experience working with blueprints and building plans
- Fluency in a second language
- Experience in business travel, both domestically and internationally
As the subject matter expert, deliver virtual and onsite training for temple employees
Provide ongoing support to regional and area managers, temple recorders, and temple staff virtually and onsite
Perform operational reviews as requested and provide recommendations for operational improvements
Use project management software tools to ensure all tasks are completed before dedication, such as ensuring equipment is functional and tested, and necessary items for operation have been received and stored
Organize and facilitate leadership council meetings across the assigned region to share learnings
Adapt training content, timing, and delivery to meet the local needs of each temple office or housing facility that may require delivery and translation into multiple languages
