We are recruiting for a passionate Clinical Nurse Educator seeking the opportunity to work within the Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit at Campbelltown Hospital.

  • In this role, you will provide comprehensive clinical teaching, support skill development and accreditation, and foster ongoing professional growth for nursing staff as well as students.
  • You will also have the opportunity to deliver nursing education programs across mental health wards within the SWSLHD.
  • You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team that focus on recovery and rehabilitation so our long-term consumers can return into the community successfully.
  • Previous mental health experience or postgraduate study is highly recommended, with strong support for ongoing professional development and supervision.

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, allied health clinicians, and peer workers who collaborate to deliver holistic, recoveryoriented care.
  • Participate in audits, quality activities and care delivery aligned with safety standards
  • Orient, supervise and mentor staff, students and TPP participants
  • Contribute to district-wide education, training and policy development
  • Provide unit-based and individual education and skill support

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a post graduate qualification in a relevant clinical field or education post graduate qualification or a combination of education training and clinical experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  • Describe a time when you identified a gap in clinical practice or service delivery and explain how you planned, delivered, and evaluated education to address it.
  • Following a clinical incident, explain how you would analyse the event, develop and deliver an education strategy for staff, and ensure the learning leads to sustained improvements in practice and patient safety.
