What you'll be doing
As a Senior Speech Pathologist, you will make a positive impact and enable patients to achieve their swallowing and communication goals in an acute environment by:
- Providing professional, evidence based, high quality speech pathology assessment and intervention.
- Developing positive working relationships with Medical Officers, Nursing Staff, Allied Health Professionals and other staff members.
- Participating in and providing educational support to patients and their significant others, supervision, quality improvement and professional development.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- A bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia. Evidence of extensive clinical experience, with minimum experience as a Level 2 Speech Pathologist.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process. Experience in clinical teaching and supervision of students, level 1/2 Allied Health Professionals and/or Allied Health Assistants.
- Demonstrated proficiency in ability to work autonomously with limited supervision. Have the ability to prioritise work, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgement.
