Senior Clinical Psychologist: $144,702.00 - $152,992.00 per annum

The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people's homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth)

The Allied Health Team Leader in the Supportive and Palliative Care stream provides operational leadership to an interdisciplinary allied health workforce across inpatient and community settings. This non-clinical role supports the implementation of the district-wide model of supportive and palliative care and contributes to service planning, workforce development, and quality improvement.

As a member of the multidisciplinary leadership team for the Supportive and Palliative Care stream, the Team Leader works collaboratively with nursing, medical, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated, person-centred care and equitable access to allied health services for supportive and palliative care patients and their families/carers.

This position is based at Nepean Hospital however travel across the District is required.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Tertiary qualifications, professional registration/membership as follows: a) Senior Clinical Psychology - Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and full registration as Psychologist with AHPRA; and 12 months at 5th year of service as Clinical Psychologist or; b) Degree in occupational therapy or equivalent recognised by the relevant board and Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist or; c) Dietitian with tertiary qualification in nutrition and dietetics and eligible for membership with Dietitians Australia or; d) Speech Pathologist with tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology and eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia or; e) Social Worker - Degree in Social Work from an accredited course providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers or; f) Physiotherapist - Tertiary qualifications in Physiotherapy and current full national Physiotherapy registration with AHPRA.
  2. Demonstrated significant experience in the management of staff, including the development of clinical policies and procedures, and the ability to provide leadership and management within a multidisciplinary team.
  3. Demonstrated high level of expertise in the management of patients requiring supportive and palliative care, including experience with interdisciplinary teams and complex care settings.
  4. Demonstrated ability to lead and complete quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes, contributing to service management through the review and redesign of service provision to improve operations and outcomes.
  5. Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with well-developed abilities in clinical supervision, teaching, and training of staff and students.
  6. Current unrestricted NSW driver licence and willingness to use for work related travel.
