About the Opportunity:
Murrumbidgee Local Health District is seeking a passionate Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 - Sexual Health to join the Sexual Health and Hepatitis C Service across Wagga Wagga and Griffith.
Based across Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and Griffith Community Health, this role provides expert care and support for clients with complex sexual health, HIV and Blood Borne Virus (BBV) needs, working closely with priority and vulnerable populations.

In this role you will:

  • Deliver advanced clinical nursing care, sexual health screening and management for clients with STIs, HIV and BBVs
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments, venepuncture, contact tracing and follow-up care across a variety of settings
  • Develop, implement and evaluate complex care management plans for clients with complex needs
  • Provide expert clinical consultation, education and mentorship to staff and multidisciplinary teams
  • Contribute to evidence-based practice, quality improvement and service development initiatives
  • Support education programs for healthcare workers and community stakeholders
  • Work autonomously while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Act as a professional role model and advocate for patients, families and priority communities

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse
  • Relevant clinical experience with at least 3 years fulltime experience in Sexual Health, HIV or Blood Borne Viruses, with demonstrated evidence of relevant postgraduate qualifications, or willingness to work towards obtaining
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical assessment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities within a dynamic clinical environment
  • Strong communication, leadership, education and mentoring skills
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence with willingness to travel across MLHD
