About the role

CMW Geosciences is seeking an enthusiastic Student or Junior Draftsperson to join our Perth team on a parttime basis (3 days per week). This role is ideal for a TAFE student who is currently studying drafting or a related discipline and is eager to gain handson experience within a professional engineering and geosciences consultancy.

The successful student will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and drafters, contributing to real project deliverables while developing practical skills in geotechnical and environmental drafting. This position offers a supportive learning environment, onthejob mentoring, and exposure to a diverse range of projects across infrastructure, mining, energy, and land development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers and drafters with preparation of technical drawings and documentation
  • Contribute to geotechnical and environmental drafting deliverables
  • Support project teams across a variety of sectors including infrastructure, mining, and land development
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of work in line with company standards
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment


About You

  • Currently or completed studying drafting or a related discipline (TAFE or equivalent)
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
  • Reliable, motivated, and eager to gain practical industry experience
  • Ability to manage time effectively while balancing study commitments
