The Team Lead, Manufacturing Engineering - Process Improvement is responsible for providing expertise and leading the relevant Manufacturing Engineering team to maintain, develop and implement efficient and compliant manufacturing processes for the production and support of current and new medical devices.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & team management - Lead the Manufacturing Engineering team, define roles and expectations, manage workloads, develop competencies, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Strategic planning & resource allocation - Set team goals, plan resources, oversee project delivery, and track progress, costs, and key process metrics.
  • Manufacturing optimisation - Improve manufacturing efficiency through method enhancements, waste reduction, new technologies, and sustaining support for existing product families.
  • Continuous improvement & innovation - Drive bestpractice initiatives, monitor stateoftheart developments, and implement improvements across processes and systems.
  • Compliance & quality oversight - Ensure adherence to Cook values, quality systems, medical device standards, PPE requirements, and highquality engineering outputs.
  • Crossfunctional collaboration - Build internal and external networks, participate in design and risk reviews, and support manufacturing areas including CI, sterilisation, sustaining, maintenance, calibration, and validation.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering qualification essential
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and experience
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing change to drive continuous improvement projects
  • Highly developed project management skills
  • Intermediate statistical data analysis skills and experience
  • Experience leading a small team in a processing/manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of Process Risk Management Technique
  • Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail
  • Communicates clearly and concisely, in a manner appropriate to the intended audience
  • Seeks opportunities for innovative and improved approaches to delivering results
