Environmental Scientist - Contamination Specialist

Location: Perth, WA

We are currently seeking a Contamination Specialist to join our Perth based Contaminated Land team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional looking to that next step in their career with the opportunity to further develop technical capability while taking responsibility for delivery of small to medium scale contamination assessments and remediation programs.

The opportunity

In this role, you will support the delivery of contamination investigation and remediation projects across a diverse client base. You will work alongside experienced professionals and play a hands-on role in both field and office-based activities.

Key responsibilities

  • You will contribute to a range of project activities, including:
  • Supporting contaminated site investigations and remediation programs
  • Assisting with HazMat surveys, registers and removal management plans
  • Conducting fieldwork including soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment and air sampling
  • Maintaining accurate field records, monitoring logs and managing analytical data (including Esdat)
  • Technical reporting and proposal preparation
  • Project management of small to medium sized assessment and remediation programs
  • Working both independently and collaboratively across project teams

About you

You are a motivated and adaptable environmental professional who enjoys working in a team and contributing to practical project outcomes.

You will bring:

  • 3-5 years' experience in contaminated land or HazMat industries
  • A degree in Chemistry / Geology / Environmental Science or a related discipline
  • Experience in fieldwork and environmental sampling
  • Strong data interpretation and report writing skills
  • Familiarity with relevant WA and national guidelines (e.g. DWER 2021, DoH 2021, NEPM 2013, PFAS NEMP 2026)
  • An understanding of project delivery and health, safety and quality systems
